Q2. How do I pay for lessons?

We ask that the term be paid in full prior to the commencement of lessons. Once you have completed your enrolment form and your lesson has been booked, you will receive (via email) your confirmation of booking / invoice.

Account details are listed for a eft payment - if paying by this method please use the invoice number or your child's name as the reference.

Credit Card payments are also accepted by simply writing your card details on the tear off section of your invoice - please deposit this in our locked and secure mailbox (under the clock at entry)

We accept eftpos, however on occasions reception will be unattended. Cash and cheque are also welcome and can be paid at reception.  If you would like to make a payment and the office is closed, we have envelopes on the table, please write your child's name on it and deposit in it our mailbox.

If you require a receipt, please let me know and I will email it off to you.

Also, if you are in a health fund, please check if you are eligible for a rebate for your child's swimming lessons - there are a few funds who endorse this.

Q3. Is the pool heated and indoors?

The Jackson's Swim School pool is heated to 28 degrees all year round, is enclosed and is 100% UV protected. The 17m x 7m pool is fully enclosed.

Q4. Do you  conduct any water safety components in the program?

Water safety skills and techniques are interwoven into each lesson taught during the term.

Q5. How many children in a class?

Tadpoles & Frogs (Babies) : Maximum 8 per class
Nemos, Dorys, Turtles, Goldfish (Learn to Swim) : Maximum 4 per class
Dolphins, Crocs, Sharks (School Age) : Maximum 5 per class
Barracudas (Squads) : Maximum 5 per lane

Q6. How many times a week should my child attend lessons?

For best results Jackson's recommend two lessons per week. To help make this more affordable, the second lesson per week is at a discounted price.

Q7. What happens if my child misses a lesson?

FREE make up lessons are available for children who miss a class, but there are some policies and procedures to ensure that the system is fair for everyone:

  • If you require a make up lesson for your child you must phone or advise the swim school prior to the absence. Kelli or Terry will then advise you of the next available make up lesson according to the level.
  • Each child enrolled into the program is restricted to two make up lessons per term.
  • Unfortunately due to the small amount of time available each term, make up classes are on a 'first in, best dressed' allocation, with missed classes unable to be rolled over to the following term. So if you know your child is going to miss a class, advise the swim school immediately and book the make up class straight away.
  • Make up lessons are not provided for the holiday intensive programs.

Q8. Are lessons held during Winter?

Yes! We run lessons all year round and encourage year long swimming.

Q9. Can we move to another day if the time is no longer convenient?

Yes, if the booked in time is no longer convenient for you, you may adjust the booking to another day or time as long as there is a vacancy. Please call reception 42674585 or email kelli_5@bigpond.com if you wish to change your booking.

Q10. Do you offer private lessons?

At this stage no - but they may be available in the near future.

 Q11. Where do I park?

We have a car park just outside the pool.

Q12. Do I need to supervise my children while they are in their swimming lesson?

Parents / carers are encouraged to sit by the pool whilst children are in their lesson.

You are responsible for taking your child to the bathroom during the lesson if required and must be at the poolside at the conclusion of their lesson.

All children under the age of 10 are required to be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Q13. Should my child wear goggles?

Children are encouraged to try goggles as it makes it more comfortable to submerge. However, it's also important that children experience what it feels like to not wear goggles.

Q14. When does my child progress to the next level?

Children's swimming skills are assessed on a weekly basis. If your child confidently demonstrates skills in all necessary areas, he/she may progress to the next level. Your child's teacher will submit a request to Terry or Kelli and they will inform you if any changes need to be made.
